Student-oriented, student-made, student-driven!

Cary has been working with The Lawrenceville School and the institution formerly known as the Center for the Study of Boys’ and Girls’ Lives (CSBGL), now the Student Participatory Action Research Center (SPARC) at the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) for over three years to better understand the social dynamics amongst students at Lawrenceville. Together with his team of fellow students, he has helped to push the school to implement more beneficial policies and services, most notably the hiring of the schools’ first African American mental health counselor in 2018. Inspired by the impact of this research, Cary continues to seek ways to give back to communities via scientific understanding of their dynamics.
